The long road of renovating.

I am still here. Life has been busy, yet slow all at the same time. If that makes any sense. We are all counting the days until fall. With fall comes Georgia Football, changing leaves, sweaters, chili, the state fair, bonfires... I could go on and on... Instead, this is what we have been up to, trying to keep cool any way we can.
We are nearing the end of our home renovation and I am FINALLY seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope. After a lot of headaches, our wood floors have been refinished. I think it was definitely worth the wait because they turned out beautifully. You can see in the background that I started doing the lime wash on our fireplace. It is not exactly what I had in mind, so it is going to be a work in progress until I get it right. When the lime is applied it goes on transparent, and dries completely opaque. It was very deceiving how the end result was going to look. I put on way more than I needed/ wanted... so now I get to backpedal to get rid of some of it. The joys of trial and error.
Here is a view looking in from the hall. The glossy new floors make everything look so much bigger! I am getting a little antsy to get this place finished and finally make it our home. I cant wait to decorate and get our things in there so it finally feels like "ours."

I have also been trying to decide on colors for the outside of the house. I am wanting a cream base with a taupe trim and bronze shutters. Below are my "cream" colors. If you haven't yet noticed, I have a problem making simple decisions...

The dark shade is the shutter color and the two taupe shades (below the bronze and to the right) are the trim that I am deciding between. I have all of the color names somewhere, but I couldn't tell you what/where they are currently.

That's about all I have right now. I am being told that we should be in within the next two weeks. I've heard that before. All that is lacking on the inside is another coat of paint on the walls and doors and a few finishing touches. Here's to hoping that I have a house before labor day!
