I'm losing my hair... and my mind!

Has this happened to yall? My hair is falling out EVERYWHERE! I seriously need a furminator... just for myself! Poor Brad has to deal with my hair clogging the shower drain and everywhere else. On top of that, for some reason its making my head itch like crazy. I'm guessing this is a hormonal thing after having kids? How much am I going to lose? Am I going to need that spray stuff to fill in bald spots? Lord I hope not!
In addition to losing my hair, I'm seriously losing my mind. I forget EVERYTHING! I thought this was supposed to go away after pregnancy? I think its almost worse now. When will I have my body and mind back to normal?

  1. No one told me that I would lose my hair - it was a total shocker! I lost more hair than I thought was imaginable, but thankfully never went bald! Oh... and my absent mind is still large and in charge and my "baby" is 14 mths old!

  3. Post postpartum hair loss was the worst!!! I am 7 months out and it is finally starting to slow down but i still lose a lot. Make sure you are cleaning out your drains frequently. Ours clogged up so bad a few months ago, i was so embarrassed!

  4. I knew as a hairdresser I was going to have postpartum hairloss, but the amount always amazed me. Make sure your vitamin intake is optimum so you don't lose anymore than you have to-I forgot that with my middle son and had "bangs" in front from so much hairloss!

  5. I actually read the other day that your hair loss slows while you are pregnant so what you are losing now is what you would have lost over the last nine months anyways...just a lot quicker! :) Im sure you wont go bald!

I too used to have a good memory but I think I pushed it out with Brayden.......I have to make lists just to remember things.

  7. i lost lots of hair and sprouted lots of baby hair--but not enough for anyone to notice! (well, it was hard not to notice the baby hair, but no one noticed the hair loss)
I've never gotten my brain back! i used to be awesome with names and dates--not anymore. if you tell me your name. . .i'll ask you for it again about 20 times. I've also called my cell phone just to have it ring in my other hand (I couldn't find it anywhere), and searched for keys (even though the car was running), and torn the house up looking for my sunglasses that were on top of my head. . .

  8. It started for me after I stopped nursing. I shed like a golden retriever for months. The good news is, it will eventually stop and it grows like crazy at the same time.

  9. My hair fell out too. Just in the front/my bang area! My hair dresser comments every time I see her how well it has grown back talk about embarassing. And yes, my memory is awful now. My boss has no shame he tells me constantly I was more coherent before baby. Nice huh?

  10. Yes, unfortunately it's part of the process after having the baby that no one tells you about. I had that problem too. Sorry?!

  16. A lot of it has to do with taking prenatal vitamins while you are pregnant. I was on them (though not pregnant) for a while and was told that a side effect is that once you stop taking them your hair falls out/breaks more easily. It will stop soon though, I promise.
