I have a Dream (house)

To start off this post, I am not complaining about my current living situation. My hub's and I are very blessed to live in a cute little house with a roof over our heads. I bought this house when we first started dating, and I never took into account that we could be living there while married. My plan was to sell the house after 2 years so that we could have something that would fit both of our needs. The house we have now is perfect for people that drive cars, don't like cutting grass, and follow neighborhood rules. Lets just say that my husband is none of those things! He drives a huge truck, has a huge smelly dog, likes to cut grass with a John Deere Tractor, and hates following the rules! Our current house is adorable, it has won Yard of the Month and the Christmas Decoration contest!
Its cute! But it definitely doesn't fit one of these...

With that being said, last fall before we were married, we decided to house hunt and take advantage of the buyers market. We fell IN LOVE with a house. Enter, dream house.
It may not look like much from the road, but it has true character. The house has been sitting for a long time, so the yard isn't well taken care of in this photo. It is my dream house because I see so much potential in it. I think of it as my "southern living house." In my mind, it already looks like this...Okay well maybe not exactly, but close! I have plans for this house, projects always pop into my head for it. A cozy front porch to drink sweet tea on.
A picket fence surrounding a little garden
For our kids to play in... or Lola for now!
Cookouts by our pool in the summer (Which looks absolutely nothing like this!)
It would look great with Christmas decorations!
Or even Fourth of July!
Basically, this house would be perfect for us! Now only if someone would buy our current home so that we can place an offer on this baby! Hopefully no one buys it out from under us in the meantime! I pray every time I drive past it, that one day it will be ours!

  1. I know what you mean about your husband needing his yard to "tend." I have to deal with the same thing. I really like both of the houses - yours and your future home. :) That's what you should call it too.

Lola is precious! I love seeing all the other BTs on the blogs.

  9. I'm a sucker for anything with wrap around porches. I think the "before" picture is totally adorable in itself. GL!
