The flannel shirt...

So with the glorious fall weather this week, I cant think of anything but cozy clothes and tall boots. While I was out yesterday, I picked up a cute flannel shirt. I'm not so sure that I can pull of flannel though. When I wear it I feel like a lumber jack and should be chopping down trees, not going out to dinner! Ive tried it with jewelry and heels, and Im still not so sure about it. Any suggestions? Lauren Conrad seems to do it flawlessly. My shirt isnt as fitted because I got a bigger size to accommodate the growing little Keating. So maybe thats the problem?

Today, Im going to be very brave, and chop off my hair. This will be the shortest haircut that I have had since 2003ish. With all of the vitamins Im taking, its just growing too fast to keep long. Hopefully it works out! I also am going a little bit darker to get rid of the summer in my hair.

I'll post after pics tomorrow!

  1. I can't wait to see pics but I am VERY tempted to invest in a flannel shirt. They remind me of my early childhood.

  2. Can't wait to see the pictures of the hair, and I'm with you, I bought a flannel shirt, but I just don't know if it looks right on me. I just don't seem to be able to pull it off. I think I'm going to leave that one to the people who can, like Lauren.

  3. I bought a flannel print button up shirt from Forever 21, so it's not bulky and it still gives the same look and effect of flannel (not to mention it was only $11.50!) It's quite cute with tall leather boots, large sunglasses, and a good handbag, a la Lauren Conrad. (although, my guy friends here in the north asked me where I parked my horse... I guess they don't understand) Just keep Lauren's accesories in mind and you'll pull it off!

  5. Ooooh, I wonder if 90s grunge is taking over short-lived 80s emo. Maybe that's the reason for the rise in lumberjack wear.
