THE BABY WHISPERER! Haha! I kid... I cant give myself that much credit, but I think that we made progress last night! YAY!
We started our new nightly routine and I think it went pretty well. I fed him at 6 and at 7:30 he had a bath (that he didnt scream through!) and I fed him again at 8:00. He fell asleep eating and I laid him in his crib to sleep. At 11, Brad and I snuck in there like ninjas, and Brad fed him his very first bottle, without him even waking up! We crossed our fingers and hoped he would sleep a long time!
We (or should I say "I" because Brad didnt even wake up) werent too disappointed when he woke up around 3 hungry. I fed him and he fell asleep eating, so I put him back in bed, where he promptly was wide awake. I fed him a little more to top him off, and put him in his crib awake. I did the "SHHHHHH" technique until he fell asleep.
Somewhere around 5 or 6 Brad woke me up and told me that Keating was crying and that there was something wrong with our baby monitor (awesome, I hope Babies R Us takes it back!) I went in and fed him again and we both fell asleep in the rocker. When I woke up, I put him back in bed where he slept until sometime after 7. Then I fed him again and he stayed wide awake until 9:30... which is a huge change since he normally sleeps until 9:30 Ive come to the conclusion that my kid is a very hungry boy. He eats A LOT!
I know there are areas of the "Baby Whispering" that Im doing wrong... like rocking him or helping him get to sleep. Last night I figured helping him a little bit wouldnt be the end of the world. After all, this was his first night in his room and crib and he isnt even 4 weeks old yet.
We are going to try it all again today, and hopefully we can keep some sort of schedule while we are out of town for a wedding this weekend. Im thinking it will probably be a disaster and we will be starting from square one again on Sunday, but I hope not.
