Hello! I hope everyone has had a great weekend! Thank you all for the comments on my sisters wedding. June seems to be the month of weddings. I just wrapped up another fabulous wedding weekend for my beautiful friend Laney. I know that summer time is meant for relaxing, but so far, we haven't had a minute to spare. Part of the problem is that my husband cant seem to just chill. My idea of relaxation is spending time by the pool, Brads is cutting grass... A few weekends ago we had the chance to go out to our property and piddle around while Brad was busy on the lawn mower. Keating thinks that the lawn mower is a golf cart. He says "GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART!!!!" Until we let him take a ride.
On another "relaxing" day, Brad and my dad built this dock for our pond. I think we will get lots of use out of it, it makes for the perfect afternoon fishing spot. I am sure Keating will really enjoy it when he is older.
Speaking of Keating he doesn't relax either. At home he is full speed ahead until he crashes at 8 or 9pm. It seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, he also has a love of lawn maintenance like his dad. So much, that he went outside right after breakfast to beat the heat and mow the lawn. I didn't even get to change him out of his pj's! He's something else, he has us laughing constantly.
I am really not sure who replaced my baby with this little boy. This time last year I was dealing with a screaming baby and wondered "Will this EVER end??" Now he is happy as long as he is busy doing something or finding mischief, I can't imagine where he gets that from. The other day when unloading the dishwasher, he was trying to "help" me. Some times he will take a spoon or cup out and run away like a little bandit. Well, he disappeared and I realized immediately that he was too quiet and too quiet equals trouble. Sure enough I found him sitting on the dog bed with a steak knife. I nearly flipped out. I better figure out what Nice and Easy hair color I am, because I can just feel the gray hairs coming. He is a handful and sometimes its utterly exhausting, but how could you not enjoy this sweet face?
He tends to run around like a country bumpkin in nothing but a diaper most of the time. He gets so messy and/ or wet from playing in his little pool that its just easier this way, or I am a lazy parent. And for those that I know are going to say it... yes, he looks just like his father!
Alright, well I managed to get in a whole blog post during nap time, but nap time is over and Blue is already requesting a golf cart ride. He also stinks really bad. Duty calls.
Precious! :) I love your little dock and pond! I want one of those in my backyard!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't mention that his Shonnie watches him all week and I use Clairol Dark Brown!!!!!
ReplyDeleteat least little boys are supposed to love their mamas...so he doesn't MEAN to make you grey ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, such a nice pond! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHe is really becoming a big boy :)
I love your property & am so jealous of the dock, pond & the fact that your hubby likes to stay busy!

ReplyDeleteyour husband sounds like mine!!!! Keating is such a doll--I know he's keeping you busy! Don't worry--Evan is 2.5 and I still let him run around in just a diaper or pull up around the house--it's just easier, and SO much cooler!!!
